Market Update: Northern Ireland Flooding
Crawford & Company has additional adjusters in place to handle an increase in claim numbers following significant rainfall in Northern Ireland. The worst-hit areas include Ballyclare, Cushendall and North & West Belfast.
Market Update: Turkey Earthquake
Crawford & Company has adjusters ready to handle claims arising after a 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck eastern Turkey. Initial reports indicate that 1,000 people have died due to the enormity of the quake. Our thoughts and sympathies are very much with the people of Turkey who face an uncertain and difficult time.
Storm Alert: Typhoon Nesat hits the Philippines
Typhoon Nesat (local name: Pedring) hit the central to northern areas of the Philippines between Monday 26 September 2011 and 27 September 2011. The typhoon entered the country from the east coastline in the Bicol region and travelled in a north westerly track across Luzon. The eye of the storm stayed to the east of Metro Manila but the width of the storm band caused havoc in and around its path.

Crawford & Company (Canada) Inc. has begun organizing to deploy adjusters into the area affected by the wildfires that have struck Slave Lake, Alberta. Adjusters are ready to assist with the damage and devastation being caused by the fire.

Last week saw four straight days of widespread super-cell thunderstorms and reportedly more than 150 deadly tornadoes across the eastern half of the U.S. which caused more than 300 fatalities.

As the devastating events of the earthquake and tsunami unfold in Japan, Crawford is monitoring the situation closely to plan our response to our many global clients particularly given the current threat of radiation exposures from damaged nuclear power plants at Fukushima. The safety of our people remains a priority, and we will continue to monitor the recommendations of several key government agencies concerning the advisability of travel to Japan. We will only mobilise our teams when it is safe to do so.
